Our projects are designed to create a better future for these children, giving them the tools they need to succeed in life. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the world.

What is Aid Liberty Missions?

Aid Liberty Missions is a registered charity with the government of Canada; we are a type of financial hub that helps orphans. Through many programs, we wish to keep you, the donor, encouraged to know where your donations are going and what impact they are making in the lives of those you are reaching.

With a personalized video footage of your sponsor child, the children and staff from LUCU Orphanage can thank you personally, letting you know the difference and the impact you are making in their lives

History

Founded, 2017

Aid Liberty Missions

It all started with a handful of people wanting to help the children of LUCU Orphanage in Hima, Uganda after their eyes were opened and their hearts changed after visiting in 2017. As more people wanted to join in and help, it eventually grew into what we are proud to call Aid Liberty Missions, bringing hope to orphans. Of course, we learned many things along the way, which helped shape and mold us into what we are today.

We are a board of members who volunteer our time and resources to help the orphans in Hima Uganda. Meeting regularly and constantly communicating with our partner, the LUCU Orphanage in Hima, Uganda, ensures that we are up-to-date on all activities, needs, and concerns. Therefore, we can provide the best knowledge, resources, and solutions to problems or questions anyone might have.

What began as orphanage sponsorship, which evolved into helping widows with children in Hima, Uganda, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our goal and vision are to grow to support more orphans and more families, as the number of orphans in Uganda and many other countries is astronomical. One day to even help them become more self-sustainable with farming, education and other skills, we hope to change their lives by giving them hope and making a difference.

Aid Liberty Missions is located 10 minutes outside Canada's capital in Gatineau, Quebec. Though our website is in English, most of our board members are fluently bilingual in French and English, and we would be happy to serve you and answer all your questions in French or English.

Founded, 2014

Lift Up Children Uganda

LUCU Orphanage

LUCU was founded in 2014 by Pastor Bwambale Sedrack and officially registered with Kasese District Local Government as a Not-For-Profit; Community Based Organization (CBO) in July 2018.

LUCU is located in Hima, Kasese district in Western Uganda. Hima is known to have many children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and other diseases, domestic violence, civil wars, accidents, etc. These orphans and vulnerable children go without basic human needs that many people take for granted, including: shelter, food, clean water, clothing, medical care, education and sanitary supplies.

Orphans in Uganda are often forced to fend for themselves, making them responsible for income generation, food production, and care for their sick siblings. To mitigate the above problem, LUCU was founded to provide orphans and vulnerable children with essential needs such as shelter, food, clean water, clothing, medical care, school fees and counselling services to assist the children in coping with life after the loss of their parents.

From 2014 to September 2017, LUCU was facing inadequate financial support as the founder could not provide children's personal needs like soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels, bedding, casual clothes, school fees etc. Paying for food and any required medical care was also a significant challenge.

Starting 2017

ALM + LUCU

Partnership

Praise God that on September 4th, 2017, the Aid Liberty Missions team under the leadership of Rodney Hynes visited LUCU. Touched by the despair of the orphaned children, Aid Liberty Missions made it their priority to offer hope to these children. Since then, they have supported all the children living at LUCU with the essential needs and over 500 other children residing in widow-headed families.

Meet Our Team

The Board Members of Aid Liberty Missions started with a handful of people wanting to make a difference in the lives of a few orphans, never expecting this to take off into what it has become. Each board member has a valued and unique relationship and connection to these missions and a valuable opinion in the decision-making of what would be best for all who either sponsor, donate or who are on the receiving end. What each person brings and contributes to these meetings is always in the best interest of those on the receiving end of these donations, where ALM can make the most significant impact. Accountability and availability are a priority for you and us.
